Homework

As stated in the Sayles School Handbook, students in grades 7-8 will have four to five assignments per week in each subject for a maximum of 60 to 80 minutes for all subjects combined each night.

My personal late work policy: Late work will be accepted for 50% off. Some assignments, such as large projects or papers, will not be accepted late. I will make sure to communicate when an assignment will not be accepted late at the time it is assigned.

My personal make-up work poilcy: It is always the student's responsibility to collect make-up work after an absence. Make-up work is available in the folders on the bulletin board behind the teacher desk. Students will be given an extension equal to the number of days absent to complete make-up work. For example, if a student is absent for 5 days, they will be given an extension of 5 days to turn in their make-up work. If a student knows that they will be absent, I ask that they let me know as soon as possible so that I can attempt to get them their work ahead of time, but I cannot guarantee that student work will always be available prior to their absence.
