To access Spotswood College SchoolPoint, click on the link to the right. This will take you to the sign in page. To sign in select 'Parents or Caregivers'. From here, you can sign in using any caregiver email that you have used to enrol with Spotswood College. Please note that all year 8 students will make their course selections for 2026 via their caregivers log in. Students only gain access to Spotswood College SchoolPoint in the calendar year they attend the school.
Before selecting your courses consider what subjects or fields you are passionate about and what career paths you may be interested in pursuing. SchoolPoint can help with step 2 as you can investigate different careers. To access this page click on the 'Career Job Search' button on the sidebar menu in SchoolPoint.
Course selection will be available week 7 of Term 3 and close week 2 of term 4
The timetable structure for a junior student at Spotwood College is shown below
You will need to select one course from each of the Learnings Areas shown on the timetable above . Please note year 8 students will only be selecting courses for semester 1. To view the courses that are available to you, select the button 'Learning Areas' on side menu bar. You will need to make a total of 8 course selections (one from each Learning Area). Carefully read the descriptions, and any additional information provided for each course.
To select a course you will need to click the button 'Select Course'. Place the course in one of the empty core selection boxes and click 'Confrim Selection' (the course selection order does not matter). The course will now be automatically added to your 2026 Learning Portfolio. The easiest way to search for your next course is to navigate back to the 'Learning Areas' page using your sidebar menu and select again from there.
It's a good idea to write down your course selections on the paper copy of your selection guide to help you keep track.

At anytime you can view your 2026 Learning Portfolio by clicking on 'My 2026 learning Portfolio' on the side bar menu. This will take you to a page displaying all your 2026 course selections. On the 'My 2026 Learning Portfolio' page you need to carefully check the following:
● Have I selected a course from each Learning Area for 2026? (You have 8 courses to select)
● Have I selected a range of courses that will help me with my career path? (You can look at the subject areas tagged to each selected course by clicking on the 'Generate Summary' button)
● Have I selected a backup course for each Learning Area?

After you have selected all your courses you can click the 'I'm Complete' button on the 'My 2026 Learning Portfolio' page. You will only be presented with this button once all your required course selections have been made. Back up course selections are very helpful.
If you can see your course selections in the 'My 2026 Learning Portfolio' page, then you can be assured that your course selections have been submitted and received.

Generic Stationery List
The following items are required for all students to have in preparation for the new school year. Any additional items will be found under each course.
We are a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) school, and students in all Years 9-13 are required to bring a device to class for their own learning needs. The device should be robust and durable enough to handle school life, but light enough to be carried around easily by a teenager.
The type of device you purchase should also depend on the courses your child is taking. Any courses such as Digital Technology (including Robotics, Coding and Digital Media), Photography, Music, Animation and some Art courses may require the student to have a different type of computer. If you are unsure please check with the school or teacher.
Minimum specification for devices:
• 10” screen
• 4Gb RAM and a dual core processor
• At least 5 hours of battery power from a full charge
• Internet capable (Wifi connectivity – 801.11N/ac preferred)
Strongly recommended features:
• Keyboard

• Durable waterproof bag/cover for protection and marked as to be identifiable
