Our team at the Sport on the Move Foundation consists of two branches: one in Namibia and one in the Netherlands. Hence we require our board members and volunteers to have good access to online facilities and basic computer skills to ensure smooth collaboration.
Local board meetings are held in Windhoek (NAM) and Enschede (NL) on a quarterly basis. Assigned time is approximately 3 hours per quarter.
Next to our board meetings we have monthly informal online and offline work sessions to collaborate on our projects. Assigned time is approximately 4-12 hours a month.
You're warmly invited to watch our athletes in action in competitions! Please note that any costs involved to travel to the competitions are not covered by the foundation.
Being a volunteer or board member for the foundation is a non-paid position. Any costs you make for your role need to be approved upfront by the board.

Responsibilities & Tasks Related to this Position
Collaborate with the Chairperson to plan and lead board meetings.
Step in for the Chairperson when they are absent or unable to fulfill duties.
Provide support and oversight to different Foundation portfolios (e.g., media, finance, HR).

We are looking for a committed Treasurer for the Namibian chapter to help us steward our financial resources with care and transparency. This role is ideal for someone with a head for numbers and a heart for community and sport. Join us in building a financially sustainable foundation for inclusive sustainability and development through sport.
Responsibilities & Tasks Related to this Position
Maintain and update accurate financial records (income, expenses, donor funds).
Create and present quarterly and annual financial reports to the Board.
Monitor account balances, bank statements, and reconcile discrepancies.
Draft and manage project budgets in coordination with the project leads.
Ensure timely payments, reimbursements, and expense validations.
Oversee compliance with financial regulations and donor requirements.
Support the audit process and financial review when required.
Provide financial insight during strategic planning or project proposal drafting.

Educational background or work experience in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.

Organize, prepare, and circulate agendas and minutes for board and committee meetings.
Maintain and update the Foundation’s records and files (e.g., board resolutions, policies, membership lists).
Ensure timely submission of required documentation for legal, compliance, and reporting purposes.
Keep track of action items and decisions made during board meetings.
Serve as the contact point for internal and external communication regarding board affairs.
Support the Chairperson in organizing meetings and official communication.
Facilitate smooth onboarding of new board or committee members by providing relevant documents.

We are looking for a creative Media & Communications Officer to help share the inspiring stories of our athletes. Responsibilities & Tasks Related to this Position
Develop and implement media and communications strategies aligned with project goals.
Manage, update and grow the Foundation’s presence across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, website).
Draft press releases, newsletters (via Mailchimp), and donor updates.
Capture and curate multimedia content (photos, videos, reels) during events or activities.
Maintain brand consistency and tone of voice across materials.
Monitor analytics to improve engagement and outreach.
Coordinate with project teams to support communication needs and deadlines.
Build and maintain relationships with local media, partners, and supporters.

We are looking for a Legal Advisor to guide our Foundation through legal landscapes in Namibia. If you're passionate about sport, social impact, governance, and helping nonprofits thrive within the law, this is your chance to contribute your expertise to a meaningful cause.
Responsibilities & Tasks Related to this Position
Provide legal opinions on internal policies, codes of conduct, and employment/volunteer agreements.
Assist with the drafting and vetting of MoUs, partnership agreements, and donor contracts.
Review statutory obligations under applicable NGO, tax, and employment laws.
Ensure compliance with GDPR (Netherlands) and local data protection regulations.
Identify potential legal risks and propose preventive strategies.
Offer input into conflict resolution or disciplinary procedures, when applicable.
Support the development of intellectual property or content rights management (e.g., branding, media use).
Required Expertise/Qualifications
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree required; LLM or specialization in NGO, Labour, or International Law is an asset.
Bar admission or licensure to practice in Namibia or the Netherlands preferred.
Relevant legal experience, ideally including nonprofit or international work.
