Get introduced to the way of work and see if you enjoy shooting participants at sporting events. Usually you are in a fixed position for the whole duration of the event and can take the same great pictures for all participants of the event. Depending on your personal experience, you may still be new to this way of shooting - but we love the job and encourage you to embrace something new with this opportunity!

How to become a photographer at Sportograf:

Tell us the most important information about you in the application form (see below).
We check your info: are there possible events for your region? Is the equipment ok?
If we accept the application, you will get a personal profile at Sportograf and access to the team chat and the internal training platform, the Sportograf Academy.
In case of a negative answer we will inform you why it didn't work out and you can apply again if the circumstances change (e.g. new equipment). Also, we keep your info to approach you for a possible collaboration in the future.

Requirements you should meet

a modern mid-range camera or higher
a good standard zoom lens
optimal: a wide angle and telephoto lens
the possibility to work with us as a freelancer (you are invoicing to Sportograf and are not directly employed by Sportograf)
as many free weekends as possible between March and October
some physical resilience to shoot in nature in all weather conditions
enjoy travelling, teamwork and new challenges

Camera requirements at Sportograf

In the following document you will find our minimum requirements and recommended cameras for the work at Sportograf. Please note: to apply to Sportograf you need at least one of the yellow marked cameras.

Sportograf Camera Bodys

At Sportograf you work with your own equipment. In the beginning you can start with 2-3 camera batteries and a fast 64 GB memory card and expand your equipment depending on further requirements. This means a low entry barrier for newcomers and we encourage ambitious photographers, who have not done sports photography before, to start with us.

In addition to your own equipment, you are in charge of your own food and beverages at the event. If overnight stays are necessary, they will be communicated and provided by Sportograf in advance. Travel costs are covered by Sportograf and usually the teams travel to the events in planned and reasonable carpools. Should it be necessary to travel by your personal car, a travel allowance can be charged.

Your salary at Sportograf

At Sportograf you get a fair salary for your work. The range is of course different from jobs such as wedding photography. For a day with Sportograf you can usually expect a salary between 200 - 350 € (EURO). You shoot with us and get your bills paid quickly by Sportograf. No lengthy client contact beforehand, no long image processing afterwards. Simple, flexible and with a few events a month a lucrative way to spend exciting weekends. In addition to the daily rate, further services are possible to increase the salary. Using a light barrier camera or working as a team leader is an attractive way to get the most out of your work at Sportograf.

Next steps:

After we have received your application form, we will check your information. Especially your current equipment and the place of residence are important for us to give you a positive feedback. Usually you will receive a response from us within the next few days. Sometimes there can be longer waiting periods. If you want to check - you can reach us by mail at team@sportograf.com.
If a cooperation is not possible at the moment, we will inform you by mail. In almost all cases of a rejection we can't offer events in the respective regions or the camera equipment is incomplete or inadequate. Of course you can also apply again if something changes in your situation. In any case, we will keep you in mind to contact you in case more possible jobs become available in your area in the future.
If you are approved, we will create a personal profile for you on our main planning platform, the Event Manager. There you can enter your profile and your free weekends, where we can invite you to possible events.
We will invite you to our team chat group in your region. There you will find all the photographers you will surely meet at an event soon. In the group, important information is communicated or short-term jobs are offered.
You will get access to our internal training platform, the Sportograf Academy. There you will find a lot of information, handouts and videos that will prepare you well for your work at Sportograf. Currently you need a Gmail address for the login.
Sportograf will invite you to a first event. Usually this is your test event. You will find more information on this below. You will receive the invitation by mail and then you will also be invited to the messenger group with the team for the event.
You will also receive the access to your profile in the event manager and the academy by mail.
Please fill in your profile in the Eventmanager as soon as possible. This is the most important step to start the cooperation. You can find more information about this in the Sportograf Academy by clicking on the"Eventmanager" tab.
