Spice Creek* is an enterprise committed to growing agricultural products, stewarding ecological land-based practices, and increasing access to nutritional foods in Brandywine, MD.
Our mission is to encourage people to develop a deeper understanding of their relationship with agriculture, ultimately to strengthen their connection to their farm community.
We envision a future in which every Mid-Atlantic consumer is able to responsibly source nutrient dense foods, enjoy seasonal offerings, and pass on recipes that help loved ones return around the dining room table.
*Spice Creek is one of several farms in the Patuxent River corridor, which includes producers and trainers that contribute to seeding a dynamic, responsive foodshed in southern Maryland. Through direct-to-consumer sales, beginner farmer training, our collective engages community through advocacy, demonstration, and education. An agrarian corridor for community growing.
Since 2012, Gail Taylor has built healthy soil, provided hundreds of local families with fresh tomatoes and turnips, and fostered community on less than an acre at Three Part Harmony Farm in northeast Washington, D.C. Along the way, she’s blazed a trail and spearheaded legislation to enable other urban farmers in D.C. to follow.
Our farm practices are informed by the understanding that seasonal, organic foods can help individuals and their community return to homeostasis and together around the dining room table.
We are an enterprise committed to connecting seasonal appropriate foods to consumers and wholesalers in the Mid-Atlantic and supporting a local foodshed that promotes public health.
