The Nettingham Performing Arts Company (NPAC) is committed to offering students a supportive and secure environment to delve into the realm of theater. Our goal is to instill essential skills in acting, play production, and stagecraft. The drama club comprises not just the talented cast but also the indispensable stage crew, collaborating together to present an enthralling musical production each year.
Mrs. Lewis is a high school teacher of Theatre Arts in Linden with a Bachelor Degree in Economics/Education from Kean University, a Master Degree in Theatre from Montclair State University and she also attended St. Elizabeth University for Educational Leadership.
Katherine has worked in multiple capacities on productions in the middle school, high school, university, community and semi-professional theatre levels. She was the production stage manager for Union High School’s production of Peter Pan which won the Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Award for Best Overall Production in 2018 and in 2021 was the Production Manager/Technical Director for a special one night only concert event in Cranford. After a long hiatus Katherine returned to the stage as Ben Franklin in 1776 with Off Book Productions in 2021 and has continued performing since. She was most recently seen as DeLanna/Wilma Mankiller in Gloria: A Life.
Katherine has many credits in Directing, Producing, Scenic Design and Construction, Costume Design, Lighting Design and more.
Currently, Katherine is working on several upcoming theatrical projects in Union County. She is a native of Union County and has spent her entire life in this community, She is a proud resident of Scotch Plains and a parent in the district.

Originally from Florida, James is a versatile artist with a passion for the performing arts. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Musical Theatre Performance from the University of Central Florida's conservatory theater program, with additional coursework in piano and Musical Direction. James attended the Dreyfoos School of the Arts for Technical and Musical Theatre. He also holds a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the College of St. Elizabeth and is a licensed school building leader and supervisor in both New York and New Jersey.
As a performer, James has achieved notable career highlights, including portraying Bobby in A Chorus Line, Czolgoz in Assassins, and Jack in Into the Woods. He has garnered critical acclaim at several professional theaters for his roles, such as The Ugly Duckling in Honk! and Bobby Strong in Urinetown. Throughout his career, James has had the privilege of training under esteemed performers in theatre and film, including Faye Dunaway, Carl Anderson, Alice Ripley, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Laura Benanti. Additionally, James is an accomplished keyboard player, conductor, orchestrator, and arranger, having directed and piano-conducted productions of Nunsense, Lucky Stiff, John and Jen, and the national tour of Menopause: the Musical.
With his expertise extending beyond performance, James has excelled as a technician and production manager, working in renowned venues throughout New York and New Jersey, including The New Victory Theatre, New World Stages, and The Playstation Theatre. As a director and technical director, he has earned numerous accolades, including 138 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Nominations and 36 awards. Notably, James received personal recognition for Outstanding Director, Outstanding Music Director, and Outstanding Overall Production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in 2010. He also received the Rising Star Award for Best Co-Choreography for his work on Cats in 2013 and directed and co-choreographed Duke Ellington's Sophisticated Ladies, which won nine Rising Star Awards in 2015. In 2018 he won best musical for the third time for his production of Peter Pan.
In addition, James is the Program Director of the Central Jersey Marquee Awards presented by the Carteret Performing Arts Center. This program celebrates excellence in High School Musical Theatre preparing students by dispatching evaluators to provide feedback about how to further improve their productions. The program culminates in an Tony Awards-style ceremony held at the Carteret Performing Arts Center each spring.
With his extensive knowledge of all elements of theatre, James embodies a unique type of professional who can adapt to the needs of any production, further enhancing his contributions to the performing arts industry.
He is excited to be working in Scotch Plains where his dad grew up and he spent summers visiting his grandparents.
