What does a career in Occupational Health & Safety look like?
A career in occupational therapy focuses on helping individuals develop or regain the skills needed for daily living and working. Occupational therapists work with people of all ages who face physical, developmental, or emotional challenges. They assess clients, create customized treatment plans, and use therapeutic activities to improve motor skills, coordination, and independence. Occupational therapists often collaborate with healthcare teams to enhance the overall well-being of their clients. Strong communication, empathy, and a deep understanding of human behavior are key in this rewarding field.
Inside look at the Module:
Students develop the safety mindset while learning about specific OSHA regulations and requirements applicable to the Construction Industry. They will demonstrate behaviors and strategies ensuring safety on the jobsite including hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention.

Career Pathway:
There are hundreds of related careers in the Government & Public Administration Career Cluster, some more similar than others. By classifying these similar careers into narrower categories called pathways, it helps individuals look at a range of options when it comes to employment in an area with similar skills and knowledge. Although this system of classifying careers into clusters and pathways is helpful in navigating career options, it is not the only way. This module is more specifically aligned with the Regulation Career Pathway. Individuals in this pathway share a set of skills and knowledge expanding on the skills and knowledge needed in the Government & Public Administration Career Cluster. Individuals in the Regulation Career Pathway demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:

Perform inspections to investigate the degree of compliance with regulatory standards.
Explore a variety of options to achieve compliance with regulatory standards.
Effectively communicate compliance and regulatory standards to all personnel.
Evaluate options for achieving an acceptable degree of compliance.

By working through this module you will begin your journey toward developing the skills and knowledge to be successfully employed in this pathway. By taking your experience and building on it by applying these skills in different scenarios you will be better prepared to take the next step in your educational path. At the end of this module, you will select two of the related careers and describe the means to achieve those opportunities.
