PaxLab Director
Hello everyone! My name is Micayla Gabrie, and I am thrilled to welcome you to Spencer County Middle School. This marks my fourth year as an educator here, and I couldn't be more proud to be part of this wonderful community.
I earned my bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education from Morehead State University, specializing in Science and Social Studies. Coming back to my hometown to teach has been a dream come true for me, and I am dedicated to making a positive impact on our students' lives every day.
Beyond the classroom, I am deeply passionate about animal, human, and environmental conservation. I devote many hours to volunteering and community service, believing strongly in giving back to the community that has given me so much.
This school year brings an exciting new initiative with our career exploration labs, and I am eager to launch this program with enthusiasm. Together, we will explore new opportunities and cultivate a passion for learning that extends beyond the textbooks and prepare students for their future.
I look forward to partnering with you to ensure a successful and enriching academic year for all our students. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or ideas you may have. Here's to a fantastic year ahead!
PaxLab Instructional Assistant
Hi everyone! My name is Courtney Schneider and this is my first year at Spencer County Middle School and I'm so excited to be a part of the SCMS family.
I stayed home with my kids full-time for 6 1/2 years before pursuing this step in education, and before I became I mom my career path covered a broad range of career clusters; Hospitality & Tourism, Medical, Executive Administration, Office Management and Event Planning.
With my experience in many different areas, I hope I can encourage our students to be open to all career paths and possibilities while also reassuring them that we don't have to have it all figured out right now, because the journey is what makes life so beautiful!
