Our summer school class will be a great opportunity for students to become familiar with their classroom and teachers and will make for an easier transition to school at the end of August. It is being taught by our Early Childhood and 4K team.Ā Our day will be filled with songs, stories, projects, and playtime both indoors and outside, as well as snack time. This is open to students who will be entering 4K this fall.Ā

Get ready for school five days a week. This class will incorporate reading, math, play, music, and movement in a fun and engaging class. Students will work on social skills and have a snack time as well. This will be a great way for students to keep their newly learned skills sharp and will be open for students entering Kindergarten.

Get ready to have some fun working on all those pictures that are on your phone or printed out! This class is for anyone who is excited about creating their very own scrapbook. We will learn how to design pages and covers, create titles and captions and have fun just talking about our pictures. It will be so neat to see these albums when you are really old; like twenty-something.Ā
(Don't forget to print and bring a lot of pictures to work on in June). This class will be open to students entering 4th-8th grades.Ā

~ Rocket Roots: Dig, Grow, Learn š±
Join us for a fun, hands-on gardening class this summer! Students will get to plant, grow, and take care of their own garden while spending time outside and getting a little messy in the dirt.Along the way, weāll build skills in reading, writing, and math without it feeling like work. Students will follow directions, learn about plants, keep simple journals, and measure how their plants grow.If you like being outside, trying new things, and watching things grow, this class is for you!

Create and learn about all things science and technology! This class takes you through an adventure of different experiments, lessons, coding, technology, and so much more. If you jump into this class, you will be able to learn what it takes to be a curiously fun scientist and technology guru! This class will be a hybrid of computer work, programming robots, science experiments, and outdoor activities. Ā This class will run for students entering 3rd-6th grade.

Students will learn simple relaxation and mindfulness strategies while enjoying art, play, and outdoor activities. Who wants to be able to run faster and jump farther? If this is you, come join us to build speed, endurance and general athletic abilities. You will get to experiment with many different running and field events. Whether you want to jump in the sand, into a mat, or be the fastest kid on the playground, this is a class to do it all. This course will be open to students entering 3rd-6th grades.

Get ready to mix, measure, and microwave your way to delicious creations! In this hands-on class, students will learn how to make simple, tasty recipes right in a mug. Along the way, theyāll practice following step-by-step directions, measuring ingredients, and building basic kitchen skills.Best of all, students get to taste their creations and compile their favorite recipes into a personalized cookbook to take home at the end of the session. Itās learning, creativity, and funāall in a mug! šŖāThis class will run for students entering 1st-6th grades.

Unplug and get ready for some classic fun! In this hands-on class, students will enjoy a variety of board and dice games like Scrabble, Monopoly, Scattergories, Checkers, Yahtzee, 5 Second Rule, Crazy 8ās, and more. While playing, students will build important skills such as taking turns, good sportsmanship, problem-solving, and following rulesāall in a relaxed, social environment. Whether youāre a seasoned player or trying games for the first time, thereās something for everyone. Come roll the dice, make new friends, and let the games begin! š²
~ Swimming Lessons š
Swimming Lessons at Colby will run from June 8th - June 18th, Monday through Thursday.Ā
There will be 2 sessions of swim lessons taught at the Colby Swim Center. There will be a limit of 30 participants per session.Ā
The first session bus will leave at 12:15 p.m. and return at approximately 2:00 p.m. Session 1 swim lessons will run from 12:45 p.m.-1:30 p.m.
The second session bus will leave at 1:15 p.m. and return at approximately 3:00 p.m. Session 2 swim lessons will run from 1:45 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Swim lessons are open to 2nd-5th grades.Ā
Please have your child here prior to the time the bus will be leaving. Students should arrive dressed with a towel and be ready for the pool.

~ Into the Wild š³
**This will be a separate class run on Fridays in June from 8:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. (June 12th, 19th, and 26th ).
**There is a maximum of 30 participants in this course and will be on a first come first served basis.
Calling all 3rd-6th gradersāget ready for an unforgettable outdoor adventure! This hands-on class is packed with exciting activities that spark creativity, teamwork, and a love for nature. From fishing and foraging to hiking, nature art, and wilderness skills, you'll explore the great outdoors while building confidence and having tons of fun!
What to Expect:
Solve group challenges & build leadership skills
Learn camping & outdoor survival techniques
Create nature-inspired art & enjoy outdoor reading
Identify plants, animals & even sample water from local streams
Weāll be outside rain or shine, so dress for the weather and bring your adventurous spirit! Students will meet at Spencer Elementary and take a bus to the school forest. Feel free to send a snack with your child.
Get ready to explore, discover, and playāout in the wild!
What we need students to bring- bug spray, sunscreen, shoes that cover feet, fishing pole (1 day for fishing day)/ life jacket, book, white t-shirt and swimsuit for water game day.
