SOL Travel Updates

(Last updated: June 6, 2017)

Students traveling to programs in the midwestern region will travel via bus or train; which will depend on the mode that inexpensively gets students to programs at their expected time.

Students traveling beyond the midwest, or programs that may be in the region but are at a greater distance, will travel via air to their respective programs

Also, depending on the program their staff will either pick students up from the respective depot or airport or shuttle or car service will be arranged to get students to their proper location. We do not use Uber, Lyft or any car-sharing service to transport minors.

All students must have a photo ID in order to travel. A student ID or a government-issued state ID or driver's license must be presented to Ms. Kerr before travel is booked.

Train service via Amtrak or Metra-Oak Park

Bus service via Greyhound-Harrison Station, 630 W. Harrison (same location for Burlington Trailways)

FAMILIES TRANSPORTING STUDENTS

Parents and guardians have also expressed a desire to drive their children to and from their SOL programs - it's a great opportunity to have peace of mind about where your child will be, to learn more about the college or university, and you could even attend opening activities that some programs develop just for families of participants.

Students attending the following programs in Illinois or in neighboring states received a Summer of a Lifetime Travel Option Form for Regional Programs during the week of May 8. Please return this form by the May 24 deadline.
