About Me
Hello, this will be my third year in the Spearfish School District. I graduated from Spearfish High School in 2007. I then studied Biology, Chemistry, Education and Coaching at Black Hills State University from 2007-2012. I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction this Summer.
I am entering my 10th year teaching, I spent the previous years teaching middle school science at SMS and 7 years prior teaching Biology in Lead-Deadwood. In 2019, I was honored as the District Teacher of the year.
My wife Kelsey, and I have a three and a half year old daughter, Marina that loves bugs, water, rocks and anything outside.
My Beliefs About Teaching and Learning
All students can learn, and it is my job as an educator to help you discover your own strengths and how you learn the best. I will be presenting information in multiple formats for learners. I have high expectations for all learners and want to help learners reach their highest potential possible.
This is not get it right class, this is try and learn class.
The only unacceptable answers are I don't know and blank.
It takes time to think and learn.
Make mistakes!
More is accomplished from risks.
We can do more together.
