About Me

Hello! I’m Colin Schindler, and I’m excited to be part of the Spearfish High School science department.

I teach Physical Science and Astronomy. My goal is to help students see science as a way of understanding the world around them—whether we’re exploring forces and energy, the rock cycle, the solar system, or the larger universe. I work to create a classroom where curiosity is encouraged, questions are valued, and every student can build confidence in their ability to think scientifically.

Before joining Spearfish High School, I taught middle school science in Tucson, Arizona. I hold a master’s degree in secondary education. I’m originally from Chamberlain, SD and am glad to be back in the Black Hills, contributing to the community through teaching.

Outside of school, I enjoy mountain biking, spending time outdoors with my family, and continuing to learn—especially about astronomy and the natural world. I look forward to working with students and families throughout the year.
