Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year and music at Creekside with Mrs. Simonyak!

The 26-27 school year marks my 6th year as the music teacher at Creekside.  I taught in the Belle Fourche School District for eight years before coming to Creekside and prior to beginning my teaching career I worked as a Director of Music in Rapid City for five years.  

I love singing, incorporating children's books into our lessons, teaching recorder, and playing the ukulele. 

I earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Black Hills State University and I was born and raised in the Black Hills.  

In my spare time I can be found running my children to their activities and helping out at their classes and scouting events.  I enjoy going for walks, reading, traveling, and spending time with my husband, children, and our dog named George.
