Hello! My name is Mrs. Ziegler, and I am so excited to be here. I am excited to be starting my 19th year of teaching and 8th year at Creekside Elementary. I grew up in Spearfish and am a Spearfish High School graduate...Go Spartans! I also graduated from Black Hills State University with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education in 2007, and my Master's in Reading in 2014. I love spending time with my husband Adam, a wildland firefighter, and our daughters Taycee (15) and Karlee (12). We also have a golden retriever named Bella (4). I am a huge lover of college basketball...Go Duke and BHSU, and NFL football...Go Cowboys!
I fully believe that all students have the potential to learn. As your child's teacher, it is my role and duty to meet the specific needs of your child, to the best of my ability. I emphasize building a positive and safe environment in my classroom, where students are encouraged and feel comfortable enough to challenge themselves and make mistakes. When children are comfortable and confident in the classroom, learning naturally takes place.
I also believe that parent-teacher communication is the only way to make the year a successful one, and I look forward to discussing the many things that your child is doing RIGHT in the classroom. I absolutely love teaching and want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to play a part in your child's life!
