SPRINGFIELD PLATTEVIEW COMMUNITY SCHOOLS 25-26
Dear SPCS Families, Staff, and Community Members,
As the leaves change and we enter the heart of fall, I am reminded of what makes Springfield Platteview Schools such a special place: our strong sense of community, pride, and shared purpose. This season invites both reflection and forward momentum, with much to celebrate across our district.
Upcoming Dates & Events
First Quarter Nears the Finish Line: October 10 marks the last day of Quarter 1. Great job to our students and staff for a strong start to the school year!
Parent-Teacher Conferences: Happening this week — a valuable time for teachers and families to connect about student growth.
No School: Friday, October 17.
Our schools continue to grow and thrive, offering new opportunities and improvements. The new tennis courts at Platteview High School are now open, providing a top-notch facility for our student-athletes and the entire community to enjoy. Additionally, the announcement of a new video scoreboard set to arrive in 2026 at Salberg Field will enhance our home athletic and activity experiences, thanks to the generous support of the SPCS Foundation and Horizon Bank. These improvements reflect our community's commitment to fostering outstanding facilities and promoting school spirit.
Inside our classrooms, we remain dedicated to developing the whole child. We are expanding mentoring through the TeamMates program, strengthening emotional wellness through the Zones of Regulation, and deepening partnerships between families and staff. Together, these initiatives ensure that students receive support academically, socially, and emotionally.
As we look ahead, early planning is underway for a bond initiative aimed at addressing future growth, expanding our industrial technology program at Platteview High School, and enhancing the safety and security of all students and staff. With steady enrollment expected, responsible planning for the next generation of learners is essential. Community input will play a vital role in this process as we strive to provide safe, efficient, and modern learning environments for every student.
Our schools are filled with energy and pride, from classrooms and performances to athletic fields and community events. I am proud of the collaboration that makes this possible and deeply grateful for the families, staff, and community members who help Springfield Platteview Schools progress every day.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Warmly,
Ryan Saunders, Ed.D.
