Summer Music Program

The summer music program is a perfect opportunity for students, whether they are beginners or more advanced students, to continue their music studies. It is open to students who will be entering third grade for the 2021- 2022 school year (current second grade students) all the way through high school. The summer music lessons are offered for voice, orchestral string instruments (violin, viola, cello, bass), and band instruments (brass, woodwind and percussion instruments).

The three-week program will run from Monday, July 12th through Friday, July 30th between the hours of 8:00am and 1:00pm. Beginner lessons will be early in the morning, intermediate students will be mid-morning, and more advanced students will be towards the end of the session. Each student will receive an hour of instruction, five days a week for the full three weeks. The program is designed to give students a ½ hour small group lesson as well as ½ hour large group ensemble experience (based upon their current skill level). The program will be structured so that your child’s lesson and ensemble will be back to back (as much as possible).

Lessons and ensembles are run by certified music teachers from the South Plainfield Schools.

Tuition for the program is $175, Checks should be made payable to South Plainfield BOE

*April 30 will be the last day to guarantee a spot in the program, registrations received after that date will only be accepted if there is space in the program.

• Checks should be made out to “South Plainfield Board of Education” and returned to your school music teacher in a sealed envelope (send in the check even if you register online).

• Placement is guaranteed only when payment is received.
