The Department of Architecture, School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Vijayawada, successfully organized a One Day Workshop on “Urban Housing as City-Making: From Policy to Spatial Strategy”, which was successfully held at SPA Vijayawada on 27 April 2026 at the Exhibition Hall. The workshop was led by Prof. Dr. Subrata Chattopadhyay (Professor Emeritus, IIT Kharagpur), who delivered an insightful session on the evolving role of urban housing in shaping cities through the integration of policy frameworks and spatial planning strategies.
The session provided a comprehensive understanding of how housing policies influence urban form and highlighted the challenges in translating policy into effective ground-level implementation. It emphasized the importance of inclusive, sustainable, and context-responsive housing approaches in contemporary urban development.
