The School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada (SPAV), successfully organised a guest lecture on “Creating Holistic Design in the Realm of the Five Senses” on 23 October 2026 at Krishnaveni Sabhagaar, SPAV. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Ponni M. Concessao, Founder and Principal Architect of Oscar, Ponni, Rahul Architects, who shared her expertise and insights into the role of the five senses in shaping holistic architectural and design experiences.

The lecture highlighted the importance of integrating sensory perception into architectural design to create meaningful, inclusive, and engaging built environments. It provided an opportunity for students, faculty members, and participants to gain valuable perspectives on how visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and other sensory experiences can influence the way people perceive, interact with, and experience spaces.

The programme was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ramesh Srikonda, Director, SPAV. The session contributed to the academic enrichment of the institution by encouraging design-oriented thinking, interdisciplinary learning, and a deeper understanding of human-centred architectural practices.
