We currently use a points system for behavior management. The students can earn points for various activities and actions that they complete throughout the duration of the school day. Examples include: completing homework, following directions, walking quietly in the hallway, being polite to classmates, and so on. The students’ points are kept track of in Class Dojo.
If, by the end of the day, they have not earned 4 points their parents will be notified immediately through Class Dojo (login each day or throughout the week to stay updated on your child’s behavior). If the student has accumulated enough points in the class by the end of the week, a predetermined bonus of $200 classroom dollars will be given to students that they will be able to use to purchase items from our classroom store. (For a student to not accumulate four points in a given day, they will have had to have demonstrated poor classroom behavior/lack of effort.)
Homework is to be completed each day. If homework is not completed or present when it is to be collected, a homework alert goes home with the child to complete the homework and must be signed by their parent(s) or guardian. The student also has to pay us $200. If a student misses homework two days in a row, that child’s parents will be called/emailed/messaged on Class Dojo to notify them of this reoccurring problem.
If you have any questions about this behavior plan, please ask your child or email your homeroom teacher for clarification.
