Accelerated Reading

• • students are required to read for at least 20 minutes each evening 

  • students should select books based upon their reading level 

  • for the 1st marking period all students will have a goal of 8 AR points 

  • for each marking period after students will have individual goals 

  • in order to earn points for a test, student must have at least 70% of the questions correct

  • AR tests can only be taken during school hours, you may still check progress on points at home

• online resource used in class and at home where students can work on areas of strength and weakness at their own level for a variety of ELA topics

• students sign in using ClassLink

• Step Into Arena function has students complete a variety of questions to build levels for various skills students can enrich or focus on (Recommendations)

• Assigned Skills (From our Teacher) are skills all students should work on that are tied to our current areas of study.  Students should work on skills and aim for a Smart Score of at least an 80.
