Ms. Marston grew up in Bucks County and attended Palisades School District for her K-12 school years. Her first instrument was the clarinet, which she started in 4th grade. She was a member of Bucks County Youth Orchestra and Wind Ensemble as well as her Palisades High School Pit orchestra, in addition to every other performance and learning opportunity she could take on.
After High School, Ms. Marston went to Moravian College to study Music Education. She continued to study clarinet as her primary instrument, but was excited to learn all the other instruments she would be teaching once she was done with college. In college she had the opportunity to tour Germany with the Moravian College Wind Ensemble, performing nightly in beautiful Moravian churches throughout the country.
Ms. Marston received her Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Moravian College and was happy to find an Instrumental Music position at Southern Lehigh right away. She taught a full band and orchestra program to grades 3-4-5 at Lower Milford, Liberty Bell, and Hopewell Elementary schools for several years in the school district. Once the JPL Intermediate School opened, Ms. Marston transferred there to teach grades 4-5-6 Instrumental Music. She has been teaching at JPLIS since it opened. She also is very proud of having started our IS Jazz Band. Comprised of 5th and 6th grade students, it is the youngest jazz band in the area.
Since starting at Southern Lehigh, Ms. Marston earned her Master's degree in education from Wilkes University. She has also taken many valuable graduate classes through The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She is grateful to have received such quality education from highly accomplished teachers and musicians.
Ms. Marston is an active member of PMEA (Pennsylvania Music Educator's Association) and NAfME (National Association for Music Education). She enjoys taking Southern Lehigh students to the PMEA All-Star Band and Orchestra Festival annually. She is passionate in helping students find joy and love in making music and she is grateful to work with Southern Lehigh students daily.
