STUDENT CPO ONLINE TEXTBOOK FOR PHYSICS AND CHEMISTRY- Go to your student 'Classlink' page to access the textbook.
Units of study in 7th grade science class: 1. Physics = first semester 2. Chemistry = second semester
Investigations/Labs= Done to better understand concepts that are being taught in class. They also create questions and greater depth of knowledge of the current topic being taught.
Homework expectations= Homework can be expected about 2 days per week. Almost always due the next class. Friday work will be due the next class period.
Materials- Students should have a science notebook and folder to organize notes and handouts they acquire during classes.
The focus of this year’s science curriculum is Physical Science. This year we will be using the CPO Science textbook as our main source of background information. This textbook will remain in the classroom, however, there is an on-line edition that is accessible through students' Classlink page. In addition to the textbook, students will be required to keep a science notebook in which they will be provided with additional information, assignments, activities, and will use it as a science journal for laboratory investigations and experiments. Traditional notes will also be put in to this notebook.
Various laboratory investigations and/or activities will be conducted to reinforce the main concepts in all units. Tools such as the physics kits, glassware, and chemicals will be used for (possibly) the first time in the students’ school career. Safety will be a focal area as hands-on activities are conducted in our pursuit of scientific knowledge.
Within this course, students will have assignments in CPO Physical Science textbook, as well as other sources provided by Mr. Marchek. These sites are available to the student at any time and will be posted on my 'Links' page found on this website or through Google Classroom. Have a great year!!!!
