Physical Science

The focus of this year’s science curriculum is Physical Science.  This year we will be using the Amplify Science curriculum, but we will also incorporate the CPO Science textbook and other outside resources for aditional background information.  The hard copy of this textbook will remain in the classroom, however, there is an on-line PDF edition of this textbook that is accessible through Google Classroom. (See Google Classroom for details).  

In addition to the textbook, students will be required to keep an Interactive Science Notebook (ISN). This will be in the form of a HARD COPY composition book.  (see material supplies list below).  Throughout the year, the students will be provided with HARD COPY pages for them to tape/paste into their ISN.  These pages are designed to reinforce and enrich the content provided by Amplify.  

In addition to classroom lectures, activities, students will also be enrolled in an on-line class in Google Classroom.  Each of my different class periods will be assigned a different version of Spiderman from the Marvel Spideyverse and the classes will compete in a "friendly neighborhood" competition.  Students will be required to check Google Classroom DAILY for homework assignments, announcements and other information.  

Within the on-line course, students will have assignments in (but limited to), Amplify assignments (both on-line and in their Amplify workbook), EdPuzzle, Newsela, and BrainPOP.  These sites are available to the student at any time and the links are listed below.

If your child has any technical issues accessing any of these sites, they should immediatelt put in a tech ticket (see classroom resources page) AND notify me by email.  Technical issues do not excuse the assignment.
