Physical Science

Topics:

The focus of this year’s science curriculum is Physical Science.  This year we will be using the CPO Science textbook as our main source of background information.  The hard copy of this textbook will remain in the classroom, however, there is an on-line edition of this textbook that is accessible through this website. (See links below).  

In addition to the textbook, students will be required to keep an Interactive Science Notebook (ISN). This will be in the form of a HARD COPY composition book.  (see material supplies list below).  Throughout the year, the students will be provided with HARD COPY pages for them to tape/paste into their ISN.  These pages are designed to reinforce and enrich the content provided in the CPO textbook.  

Since also focuses on hands-on learning, the students will also be using a separate Science Journal for laboratory investigations, activities and experiments.  This journal will be provided to the students within the first few days of school.

In addition to classroom lectures, activities, students will also be enrolled in an on-line class in Google Classroom, entitled Spideyverse Science.  Students will be required to access this on-line course DAILY for homework assignments, announcements and other information.  

Within the on-line course, students will have assignments in (but limited to), CPO Physical Science textbook, EdPuzzle, Newsela, and BrainPOP.  These sites are available to the student at any time and the links are listed below.
