STUDY TIPS:
1. For new vocabulary, say the word softly aloud as you write it by hand 3xs in your notebook.
2. Draw a picture. You are more likely to remember a word when it's paired with a drawing.
3. Turn index cards into a set of picture or word flash cards.
4. Record your voice speaking or reading in Spanish.
5. Write the word in a simple, complete Spanish sentence.
6. To memorize subject pronouns (pronombres de sujeto), create a pronoun cube out of an old tissue or gift box that has 6 sides and play atrápalo! (catch) with yourself or another person by conjugating a verb correctly according to the pronoun you see when you catch the cube. On each side, write:
yo nosotros
tú vosotros
Ud. él, ella Uds., ellos, ellas
7. ¡No seas tímido! Don't be shy. Be open to new experiences and willing to take risks--it's OK to pronounce something incorrectly or feel silly or embarrassed. (I learned how to speak Spanish by making a lot of mistakes) You too will be rewarded for your perseverance!
