Mini Maker Centers

Makerspace Centers in the Library

Students in grades 2-3 have the opportunity to visit and participate in library centers during their 45 minute class period. Centers are called Mini Makers and are based upon the concept of the Makerspace movement. In broad terms, a Makerspace is a place where students can gather to create, invent, tinker and explore using a variety of hands-on materials. Activities include problem solving, engineering, arts and crafts, coding, the scientific process and technology. We are excited about the addition of Mini Makers to our library curriculum and are looking forward to expanding the program for the upcoming school year.
