Preparing and taking care of your arm is critical to a healthy baseball season. To help maintain a healthy arm, below is a sample routine players can practice with a partner.
Arm Care Throwing Routine
Wrist Flips - 5 reps / 10 feet apart- focus on wrist strength and a strong snap
Rotate Torso - 5-10 reps / 25-30 feet apart- focus on isolating the upper body
Figure 8's - 5 reps / 45-50 feet apart- focus on getting the upper body and lower body to work together
Rocker Throws - 5-10 reps / 50-60 feet apart- emphasize follow through
Regular Catch - 20-25 reps / 90-100 feet apart- focus on accuracy and consistency
Long Toss - 10-15 reps / 125-250 feet apart- focus on building arm strength
Quick Transfer - 10-15 reps / walking in from long toss- focus on quick hands
