Volunteer Shifts

Build

Build volunteers get to see any empty warehouse turn into the epic DEKA FIT arena. Tasks include unloading trailers, putting up signage, setting up the DEKA FIT zones. If you’d like to see the behind the scenes of what goes into putting on a Spartan DEKA event, this is the perfect shift for you!

Festival Support

Festival volunteers help our Festival Team on race days at the registration tables, finish line, bag check, and other festival operations. If you like to be around fast paced action, this is the perfect shift for you! 

After the Festival is closed, our Full Day Festival volunteers will also assist with breaking down the entire DEKA arena, including tables, signage, and DEKA equipment.

Course Support

Course support volunteers monitor the 10 DEKA FIT zones cheering on athletes throughout the course. Responsibilities include refereeing to ensure that competitors complete the required distances and repetitions in each zone. On-site training will be provided on race day and zone guidelines will be posted at each station for reference

If you are a seasoned DEKA FIT athlete or volunteer, ask your Volunteer Coordinator on site about being a zone lead!

DEKA Support

DEKA Support volunteers are our versatile, all-in-one team members ready to take on any role that helps make race day unforgettable! Your specific role will be assigned upon arrival, and may include tasks like greeting racers and managing check-ins at registration, cheering participants and refereeing the DEKA FIT zones , or handing out well-earned shirts and medals at the finish line. This is the ideal shift for those who are new to volunteering or open to lending a hand wherever it’s needed most. Get ready to dive in and make a difference across the event! 

DEKA Breakdown

As competitors finish their races, the Breakdown Crew volunteers assist us with the organizing and clean-up of the competition floor. This includes breakdown of zones, inventory and general clean-up.  If you’re a go-getter (who wants a little bit of an extra workout), this is the perfect shift for you! 

**We try our best to place you and your friends in your desired stations, however in some cases we will ask volunteers to fill priority roles.
