Accessibility Icon Painting Project rescheduled for 9/10

The Diversity Council and our community partner, Askin&Hooker LLC, are looking for volunteers to help us with our Accessibility Icon Painting Project. The goal of this 2.5 hour community event is to repaint and rebrand all of the handicapped parking spots throughout the district.

We will be using the "Accessible Icon" which radically reimagines the original 1960s icon. That symbol shows a stationary vision of disability. The new image demonstrates a person in motion and with agency. It represents an individual that is not dependent on anyone else for forward progress.

This event is scheduled for Saturday, September 10th (with a rain date of 9/17). The painting projects will be staggered across the district.

The full schedule is available below.

SHS 10am-12:30pm

SMS 10:30am-1:00pm

MAS 11:00am-1:30pm

HMS 11:30am-2:00pm

AES 12:00pm-2:30pm
