Meet the Coaches

Coach Lollgen is a History teacher at SHS. He has been coaching with the Girls Basketball program for over 12 years. 

He is currently the coach of the Freshman Girls Basketball team.

Coach McCarney recently finished his first season as the Head Coach of the Sparta Girls Basketball Varsity team. In his first season, the Spartans finished with a 20-7 record, won the HWS Tournament, and Coach McCarney was named the New Jersey Basketball Coaches Association HWS Coach of the Year. Prior to taking over the Spartan program, he previously coached the Kittatinny Boys Basketball team for five years and Montville Girls Basketball team for one year. While at Kittatinny, Coach McCarney won two NJAC Colonial Division Titles and was named the 2018-2019 NJ Herald Coach of the Year.

Coach Bushey is the Sparta Girls Basketball JV Coach. Coach Bushey has an incredible work ethic and basketball strategy mind, especially on defense!  He is a former SHS graduate where he played Lacrosse for 4 years and then played 4 years of Lacrosse at Kean University. He is also a Health and Physical Education teacher at SHS. He will be Coach McCarney's assistant coach for the varsity team.
