The 7th grade program is a study of the United States with the primary focus on how the early history of the United States and the constitutional framework continues to influence our lives. Using civic participation as the core, the program integrates the disciplines of history, political science, economics, sociology, geography, and the humanities to give students an appreciation of the major ideals and concepts that characterize what it means to be an American citizen. The program includes an in-depth study of the United States Constitution and the operation of the federal and state governments. In addition, there are special units on major political and social issues that have united and divided the nation over time.
