Ms. Douglas - Room 170
Class Overview
I am very excited to be your teacher this year! We will be reading and writing a multitude of pieces throughout the year and will be discussing many interesting topics. Check up top to see your specific class and our learning objectives for the year.
I go by a multitude of quotes and mantras, but the most important to me is "The fun is in the work" and I hope that by the end of this year, you too will live by that quote!
Please know that I am always here for you, and one of my many goals as your teacher is to teach AND learn from you! I plan to foster an environment filled with mutual respect, safety, and inclusivity. Let's work together to create the best classroom environment possible!
Expectations
I have very high expectations for each and every one of you, and I hope that you have high expectations of me. With that being said, here are some rules I have for you when you walk into the class come September 6th. We will make a class contract that we all agree upon during our first week together.
Be Prepared
a. Bring your CHARGED Chromebook and a charger
b. Bring a pencil/something to write with
c. A notebook OR a binder with paper
d. A sturdy pocket folder
Be Kind -- You never know what someone is going through. Ask yourself, "Would I want someone to say this to me?" If not, DON'T SAY IT!
Prioritize your time in class -- I want to give as LITTLE homework as possible. HOWEVER, if you do not complete your work in class, you will have to complete it for homework!
Ask questions! I am here to help and to clarify any confusing topics.
Supplies List for ELA
