Kindergarteners created Chatterpix to showcase their favorite book characters. Click here to see more!

Students in 1st grade created commercials to advertise their DEAR Day bookmarks (see to the right). Students in other grades will vote to determine which bookmark they will receive as a DEAR Day bookmark.

Second graders were in charge of getting the word out to our school building. They created advertisements to encourage students to drop everything and read!

Virtual Library

Third graders created virtual libraries for students to explore. Students in all grade levels can read or listen to some of their favorite books! Click on each Bitmoji to see the virtual libraries created by each class.

Fourth Graders compiled book reviews to help kids in other grades choose books to read on DEAR Day. Click on the Padlet posts to read about some of their recommendations.

Hammonds D.E.A.R Day Projects

Fifth graders pulled noticings from their study of WWII propaganda and created posters to persuade students to participate in DEAR Day reading activities. See more examples here!
