My name is Travis Pitman. I played collegiate baseball at Appalachian State University and Furman University where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Exercise Science. I have been teaching physical education for 23 years. I taught at Riverside Middle School for 7 years before teaching at Riverside High School for 9. While at both schools I coached baseball, football and basketball. I was the Region 2-5A Baseball Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2018. I have also served as an athletic director, assistant athletic director and intramural director at both schools at various times throughout my career. My beautiful wife Jennifer is also a teacher and we have a 15 year old daughter named Payden, and a 13 year old son named Hawk. In my free time I enjoy taking trips with my family and hanging out by the pool. I am really looking forward to starting my eighth year at HES. I'm also looking forward to my third year coaching football at Chesnee High School where I will be coaching safeties. I love physical education and can’t wait to get the Hendrix student body moving and learning about a healthy lifestyle.
