Welcome to 5th Grade! I am excited that I am teaching 5th grade English and social studies at Sugar Ridge Elementary!  This is my 19th year of teaching!  I grew up in Central New York and graduated from SUNY Oswego with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Childhood Education and earned my master’s degree in Literacy.  I first taught 6th grade math in New York before my husband and I moved to SC in 2016.  For my first three years, I taught 5th Grade English at Chandler Creek Elementary School in Greer, SC before transferring six years ago to Spartanburg District 2. It has been a very rewarding experience!      

Marc and I enjoy having our two boys, Chad and Brett, living in the area! Chad is a 2019 graduate from the University of Florida and works in banking.  Brett is a 2020 graduate from Florida State University and works in banking as well! Also, we have the cutest little dog, Augie!  He is the best!!  He is a mini-Golden Doodle!  He is sweet and full of energy!  

Living in South Carolina has been the best! The people, weather, and areas to explore are all amazing!  One of my favorite hobbies is golf. I also love to hike and explore the many trails and mountains in our area!  Country music is my favorite!  I am a published poet and enjoy writing!  I also enjoy exercising, yoga, Book Club (of course!), Bunco, and Couple's Golf League!
