August 24 - September 3, 2021
Mrs. Edwards meets with every student at IIS the first month of school. She conducts interviews with each child to identify any concerns or needs the students may need.
Start with Hello Week
September 20-24, 2021
Start with Hello is a week sponsored by the Sandy Hook Promise to help reduce social isolation in our schools. Our students at IIS will be showing kindness to each other and participating in Start with Hello class lessons this week.
We will be participating in a fundraiser for Christmas for All this week. We will be showing kindness to our community by raising money to help D1 Families for Christmas.
Red Ribbon Week
Theme: Be Happy. Be Brave. Be Drug Free.
October 25 - 29, 2021
During Red Ribbon Week the students at IIS celebrate the fact that we make good positive choices. One of these choices being....not participating in the use of drugs and alcohol. We will participate in spirit days this week.
Spirit Days:
Monday : United We Stand Against Drugs! - Twin Day
Tuesday: My Future is Bright because I'm Drug Free! - Tie Dye Day
Wednesday: Don't Let Drugs Mix you Up! - Wacky Tacky Day
Thursday: Be a Hero Stay Drug Free! - Superhero Day (wear superhero attire, camo, or red/white/blue)
Friday: We will Succeed Drug Free! - Career Dress Up Day (dress as the career you would like when you grow up)
Christmas for All
Christmas for All is our Christmas family sponsor program. If you need assistance for your family for Christmas please contact Mrs. Edwards. All referrals for Christmas help have to be turned in by November 30th, 2021.
