What is a web designer?
A web designer is responsible for creating the design and layout of a website or web pages. This part of the course taught us how to plan, create and code internet sites and web pages, many of which combine text with pictures, graphics and video clips.

Infographic
Timeline: January 20, 2023 - January 30, 2023
The goal of this project was to use our prior knowledge of graphics and design to create an infographic about digital technologies and the World Wide Web. An infographic is a visual image such as a chart or diagram used to represent information or data.
Using Adobe Illustrator, I wanted to create an eye-catching background to grab the viewer's attention. I used a gradient technique on the base and added layered text boxes to make the text stand out. I then added facts and statistics that were quick and easy to read so that the viewer does not lose interest. Next, I incorporated graphics and photos that related to the content to add more interest to the project. This infographic gets the point across but also contains an abundance of information and is visually appealing.

Timeline: January 30, 2023 - February 3, 2023
The goal of this project was to introduce students to the process of web design. We used the TextEdit software to learn basic coding and the fundamentals of creating a website.
First, we added a code that made the background of the website purple. Next, we added headers and body text for the content. We then added a horizontal rule under the main header and indented the body text to create contrast within the text. We also changed the color of the headers to stand out more. Finally, we photoshopped an image of a goose and inserted the image into the website.

Timeline: February 4, 2023 - February 6, 2023
The goal of this project was to create a personalized website using the TextEdit software. We were able to use the knowledge we gained in the previous project to go more in depth with coding and get more familiar with web design.
First, I coded the color of the background to be gray. Next, I added headers and body text with special features like horizontal rules, indent, and bold. I also changed the color of the headers and the horizontal rules. Finally, I inserted an image of myself to relate to the content.

Restaurant Simple Page
Timeline: February 6, 2023 - February 13, 2023
The goal of this project was to create a restaurant website using the TextEdit software. For this project we were required to go deeper in coding and learned how to encorporate a functioning map.
First, I coded the color of the background to be purple. Next, I added headers and body text with the menu items and other information about the restaurant. I also changed the color of the headers and the horizontal rules to fit the theme of the restaurant. This was also the first project that I learned how to center text. Finally, I inserted images of the restaurant's logo, menu items, and also a map of the restaurant's location.

Endangered Species Website
Timeline: February 14, 2023 - February 23, 2023
The goal of this project was to create a multi-paged endangered species website using the Text.Edit software. For this project we were required to go more in depth with coding and learned how to incorporate hyperlinks.
I enjoyed doing research on the topic and having the opportunity to personalize it as well. We also learned how to create our own font and add it to the website.
I did not enjoy using Text.Edit because it is difficult to use on more complex sites.

Timeline: February 25, 2023 - March 23, 2023
The goal of this project was to create an interactive three-paged website and learn how to correctly link pages together. We learned how coding websites is much more convenient on Dreamweaver and began learning more coding shortcuts.
I enjoyed using Dreamweaver and learning how to create websites more efficiently. It was much easier to include images, links, buttons, and to change the color or format of the page.
It was difficult learning lots of new information at once while trying to learn on a new software but I enjoyed the complexity.

Timeline: March 24, 2023 - April 11, 2023
The goal of this project was to create an interactive five-paged website and apply all of our knowledge of web design to this final website project.
I enjoyed having creative freedom and using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and other software to make this project look more professional and unique.
