General meetings occur once a month during the academic year. All meetings will start with a short business section, and , in BIOS Roundtable meetings, there is a guided time for students to engage in conversation about relevant science news.
Next Meeting: September 5th at 5pm in FJS
Each year there are 15 district conventions. The Delta Alpha Chapter belongs to the second south-central district (SC-2) and this year there was a district convention for the south-central region via Zoom on Saturday, 4/10/21 hosted by the Alpha Chapter (Oklahoma State University).
This year, the SU Department of Biology sponsored 11 students to attend. Of our attendees, we had two members present their research: Kaitlin Galassini ‘21 and Andrew Vergote ‘21, with Andrew placing first in the BBB Boudetase Oral Presentations!
Just as the local chapter is the center of TriBeta programs, the district convention is the most important regional project. It offers student members a chance to report their research and to hear from outstanding graduate investigators and teachers who give invited lectures and hold informal discussions.
Stay tuned for our next general meeting this fall in FJS! Both current members and potential new members are welcome to attend.
A ceremony will be held to honor seniors inducted into TriBeta.
