Austin Chasnick

In April 2023, Mr. Chasnick graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance.
While attending Oakland University, Mr. Chasnick had many performance opportunities. During his entire time at OU, he performed in the Wind Symphony, the top ensemble. He also performed at numerous concerts with the Oakland Symphony Orchestra, the resident semi-professional orchestra at Oakland University. Most recently, he performed with the OSO at their annual Orchestra Hall concert in Detroit, playing Clarinet and Bass Clarinet for the Brahms Requiem and Stravinsky's Rite of Spring. In the Spring of 2020, Mr. Chasnick won the OU School of Music, Theatre and Dance concerto competition with a duet concerto. He also has performed in musical pit orchestras throughout the Metro-Detroit area.
Since 2020, Mr. Chasnick has gotten to teach marching bands regularly. He spent time with North Farmington High School and Rochester High School. He has also been a full season marching band staff member since 2020 at Lamphere High School, an MCBA Flight IV competitive band. Most recently, Mr. Chasnick completed his student teaching with Bloomfield Hills High School Band Director Alan Posner, and Bloomfield Hills Middle School Band Director Kendra Peterson.
