Language Arts:
Each child will be required to read for 20 minutes a night (Monday-Thursday). This will also count towards the Book-It program which begins in October. Students may also receive nightly homework assignments as needed or may be asked to complete work that did not get finished during the school day.
Math:
It would greatly benefit your child to practice basic math facts for 10 minutes a night (Monday- Thursday). Addition and Subtraction basic facts to start and then Multiplication and Division as classroom content is covered. Your child can use flash cards, write math problems, use computer sites, math games, etc. Students will also receive online assignments and/or practice pages to complete at home throughout the week. Your child will write any assigned work in their assignment notebook and/or find it in my Google Classroom so you will know the work they are required to complete.
Examples of traditional homework that may be assigned as needed.
Examples:
· study guides before chapter tests/quizzes
· nightly practice to reinforce classroom skills being learned
· if your child needs extra reinforcement on certain concepts
· if your child doesn’t finish the practice page during class time
