FOCUS FRIDAY – Friday, March 6
We will hold our next Focus Friday on Friday, March 6. Students will participate in the following activities:
Activity #1: Course Requests (Grades 9–11)
Students in grades 9–11 will enter their course requests for the 2026–2027 school year. This data-entry process should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
Activity #2: Start With Hello Program
Students will participate in activities connected to Start With Hello, a program from Sandy Hook Promise. This portion will include:
Viewing a 22-minute video
Completing a Kahoot activity
Participating in a small-group discussion
All activities will be facilitated by South Range staff within students’ assigned Focus Friday groups.
While the video is appropriate for students, it includes a brief scene in which some students use pronouns that do not align with their assigned gender. For your review, the full 22-minute video is provided below here. If a parent/guardian prefers that their child not participate, please email Mrs. Burkey. Students who opt out will report to the cafeteria for the remainder of Focus Friday.
Activity #3: Vibe Check Video
Students will watch a video titled Vibe Check, created from student responses collected on Tuesday, March 3 during 2nd and 3rd periods.
Please reach out to Mrs. Burkey with any questions.
