Enroll in the School Tool Parent Portal https://www.southlewis.org/parent-portal-information--3
The Parent Portal is a program that allows parents to view their child's grades online. There is also information available including the student's attendance record, contact information, and daily schedule. This information is made available to parents in an effort to strengthen the connection between school and home.
Signing up for the "Parent Portal" is easy. Parents/guardians can print out and complete the Parent Portal Consent Form. This form is then returned to the High School Office. In order to protect your child's confidential information, parents/guardians are required to show identification at the time the consent form is submitted. This form is then given to our Technology Department and a login and password will be issued for access to the Parent Portal Program. It's a great way to stay up to date with your child's assignments and progress!
The South Lewis School District provides all students with as many of the basic supplies possible that they will need for school including folders, binders, pencils, and erasers.
All students in grades 9-12 will be assigned a Chromebook laptop to use throughout the school year. Students are responsible for their care and that of any additional accessories they receive. Use them wisely and carefully!
Lockers- Students will be assigned a locker which can be found at the top of their schedule. If a lock is used, either a spare key or the combination must be provided to the High School Office.
Students work closely with their school counselor to select courses that fulfill graduation requirements and help prepare them for the future they have chosen. If a schedule change is necessary after conversations with the school counselor, teacher, and parent, a schedule change form will be completed. All schedule changes must be made prior to the end of the 3rd week of class.
Students will have three minutes to change classrooms between each period. Students should use this time wisely so they are not late for their next class.
Students will have separate lockers and will be expected to change for class. Students must be prepared for the activities planned including indoor and outdoor activities, and swimming.
If students are struggling with a class, they can spend extra time with the teacher during activity period or study hall. Some students may even be assigned to spend activity period with a teacher. Students may also be enrolled in Academic Intervention Services (AIS) in order to get the extra help they need. If students are struggling, please contact the school counselor.
Use Study Halls and Activity Period wisely. You can make up work, get ahead on homework, and get other assignments done at school.
