Southgate Public School Library Media Center
The library media center at Southgate is home to a vast collection of over 8,000 resources for student and faculty use. The media center is also home to the school's new makerspace facility which houses two 3D printers, a Cricut machine and various building/invention sets such as Legos and Makey-Makey. The space is ever evolving to meet the challenges and demands in educating 21st century learners. Not only is the media center a resource hub for the district, but the library media specialist is also ever ready to provide expertise and guidance to students and staff when implementing and using new software and resources available to the 21st century learner.
Media Center Mission Statement
The mission of the Southgate Public School Media Center is to cultivate a curriculum for the 21st century learner and instill lifelong learning. By focusing on the collaboration of staff and students, literacy, and innovation, Southgate will prepare students to be resourceful community leaders and thoughtful digital citizens.
