Student Blog

Each week a different student will be responsible for updating the student blog on progress of Tiny House Build. They will be sharing information on struggles, successes, and major project completions.

Week 1: September 4-8

The construction technology students have been hard at work reviewing lab and tool safety, before we begin the Tiny House building in the coming weeks.



Week 2: September 11-15

The class joined together to clean out and rearrange the very messy tool trailer and warehouse, which improved our knowledge with work and clean-up efficiency.


Week 3: September 18-22

Author: Levi Hood

This week we learned how to do floor framing and started framing the floor. After we frame the floor we will start to put the insulation in and then finish the floor with 3/4" plywood. We had also started our OSHA 10 training on the computers.


Week 4: September 25-29

The floor is now framed and we are putting in insulation and sub-flooring. The space left un-insulated will be for the deck.


Week 5: October 2-6

Author: Tucker Logue

This week we learned a lot about wall layouts and how to frame them. We took our skills and put them to work in the real world by building our walls.

Week 6: October 9-13

This week we started wall layouts and got them finished. We worked as a team to set them in place.



Week 7: October 16-20

We finished framing the roof and fixing the rafters. Also we had a professional Electrician come and oversee our wiring installation.


Week 9: October 30-3

Week 10: November 6-10
