Frequently Asked Questions:
Why may a student be completing a Social Studies at home?
A. Students will be given a review sheet/study guide at the start of each unit. These review sheets are to be completed as we move through the unit and due before each unit test. (Directions and due dates for each review sheet and test dates will be given in class by Ms. Hayes before being posted in Google Classroom.)
B. Students will complete a couple of projects throughout the school year. Most of the work (95%) for these projects will be completed in class. At times students may need to work on the project at home in order to have them completed before the due date. (Directions and due dates will be given in class by Ms. Hayes before being posted in Google Classroom .)
C. Student did not complete an assignment in class and has been given the ability to take the assignment home for completions.
What do I need to do if I am absent?
If you are absent from class due to sickness, doctor's appointment, etc.. then check Google Classroom. Google Classroom is updated daily with materials and assignments for social studies class. If there are any materials and/or assignments that are handed out in class then you, the student, will receive those when you return to school. Assignments that you missed will be due five days starting the day you return to school. For any additional questions please send me an email and I will respond before the end of the school day.
What counts as late work?
Late work, in Ms. Hayes classroom, is ANY assignment that you do not turn in the day it is due and you are present in class. These late assignments will have up to 10 points taken off of them each day they are late. For example: an assignment that is one day late will have 10 points taken off, while an assignment that is two days late will have 20 points taken off.
