Broader Horizons is open to ages 14 - 17 and is suited to teens who have little or no job experience. The goal of the program is expose participants to different jobs that are available in town government or in the local community. Interns are paid to work 20 hours per week. Since worksites vary, the intern and employer agree upon work schedules. Interns will also be required to attend sixteen hours of job skills, career exploration, and money management training offered through the Town on Monday, June 30th – Tuesday July 2nd with interns working in their placements from Monday, July 7th – Friday, August 15th. Interns are supervised throughout their work experience by their site supervisors and assistance is offered when needed by Youth Bureau staff.
