PASSAGE USA

PASSAGE USA (Preparing All Students Socially and Academically for Gainful Emplyment) is a program at the University of South Alabama that is design for students with various disabilities. This program provides students with support to be successful in the community. Students are taught skills such as independent living, employment, social, and determination. They are taught to be independent and ask for help when appropriate. They attend classes with other students on campus and are provided with additional class that focus on acquiring these skills. PASSAGE USA pairs volunteers (peer mentors) with their students for one on one session that include supporting them in class, during homework/study hall, and attending social events.

This is a great way to assist others who may think differently and need extra support. If you are interested in becoming a peer mentor for PASSAGE USA, please visit their website linked here
