Exploring Psychology, Culture, and Community Across the World
Psychology looks different when you take it outside the classroom
USA Psychology Study Abroad gives students the opportunity to explore psychology within different cultural, social, and historical contexts while experiencing life abroad alongside faculty and fellow students.
Through visits with universities, researchers, healthcare providers, and community organizations, as well as plenty of opportunities to explore, we examine how culture and context shape the way people think, behave, cope, and connect.
Global Perspectives on Psychology
Students learn how mental health, treatment approaches, and psychological research vary across cultures and healthcare systems.
Experiential Learning
Programs include visits to universities, research labs, healthcare settings, and community organizations that connect classroom learning to real-world practice.
Cultural Immersion
Students explore the host city and surrounding regions through guided excursions, museums, historic sites, and local experiences.
Personal and Professional Growth
Study abroad builds independence, cultural awareness, and critical thinking—skills that are valuable for graduate school and future careers.
Small Cohort Experience
Programs are intentionally small, allowing students to build strong connections with faculty and peers while traveling together.
Faculty-Led Programs
Students travel with experienced psychology faculty who integrate academic content, cultural experiences, and professional insights throughout the program.
Hands-On Experiences
Programs often include visits to:
Universities and research institutes
Mental health clinics or community organizations
Historic and cultural sites connected to psychology and society
Supportive Learning Environment
Students participate in structured learning activities, discussions, and reflections that help connect global experiences with psychological science.
Together, faculty leaders guide students through both the academic and cultural aspects of the program, helping students connect their experiences abroad to psychological science and practice.
