Dania Rishiq, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Audiology at the University of South Alabama. She received her doctoral degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Tennessee in May 2013. Following her graduation, Rishiq worked as a Research Audiologist at Starkey Hearing Technologies (Eden Prairie, Minnesota). She later completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Mayo Clinic, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dr. Rishiq’s most recent research interests include aural rehabilitation and investigating the efficacy of auditory training programs, hearing aid research, and clinical audiology.
To date, she continues to collaborate on research projects with Mayo Clinic, Arizona State University, University of Minnesota, Northwestern University, and Old Dominion University
In the past year (2016 – 2017), Rishiq and her colleagues have published four manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals. Three of which evaluated the efficacy of a computerized auditory training program and hearing aid use using audio-visual, electrophysiological, and fMRI outcome measures (Rishiq et al. 2016; Rao et al., 2016; and Yu et al., 2017).
