Amit Birwal

Hello and welcome to my webpage....

I am an Assistant Professor at Department of Electronic Science, University of Delhi, India.  I am mostly engaged in teaching master students with specialization in microwave electronics and related subjects. I have had several enriching and rewarding teaching and laboratory experiences at this department, which mainly focuses on high frequency communication systems and associated measurement techniques

I have completed my PhD titled Design and Development of Compact Antennas for Internet of Things (IoT) Based Systems from Institute of Informatics and Communication, University of Delhi South Campus, New Delhi, India.

My research focuses on design and development of planar antennas suitable for IoT applications which is widely used as a network of physical electronic devices with embedded electronics, sensor nodes and software to control the exchange of information between other IoT devices using wireless network over the internet. During my research work, I proposed many antennas designs and device integration suitable for circular polarization in Global Positioning System and other wireless applications.

Prior to joining this teaching and research department, I worked more than 8+ years in Industry with majority period in a telecom company (Ericsson, India). During my stay here, I worked on many projects in India, Turkey and Sweden based on mobile communication nodes such as Interactive voice response (IVR), Online Mediation, Voucher Server (VS), Account Information and Refill (AIR).
