April 28 Announcement:
K-4 Specials Calendar for the month of May
For art, we will focus on one lesson for your child's grade level for that week. I will post my activities by the end of this week. Emailing me is still the easiest way to turn in work, however you can turn in paper packets in the K-4 drop off bin.
We are near the end. I thank you for your patience and hard work as we have learned to navigate through this online journey. I truly hope next school year our routines can return to normal!
As always, please reach out to me for any questions or assistance.
~Mrs. Bush
April 27 Announcements:
Hello everyone- just a few announcements as we are moving into the month of May:
-Please try to have all K-6 work completed by May 15.
-K-4 Art Journal Packets & Scavemger Hunts sent home from March 16-April 3: IF YOU HAVE NOT finished these, you may choose to not complete them and focus on the work that was recently posted for each grade level. This is meant to help reduce any stress!!
-There are several options on turning in your child’s work: 1) emailing me pictures, 2) dropping off packets in the bins outside of the junior high entrance; 3) you can also text me your child’s work (please message me for the number you can reach me at); 5th/6th grade continue to use Google Classroom, email, and/or packets.
-I know there’s much stress about online learning. I understand the stress of finding your child’s work online or where to pick up a paper packet. I also know many parents are still working or have other children in other grade levels.
-Art (and other specials) are also graded subjects, which is why we created a rotation to help families focus on one special for that week before moving on to the next.
-If you are struggling completing work for art- please email me abush@south-central.org or private message me on Facebook. We will work something out.
-If you really need one-on-one instructions, I can offer Zoom meetings.
-I am more than happy to be flexible with you and help you out, but please reach out to me if you have any questions!
-All K-4 classes have extra packets in the blue bins outside of the junior high entrance and are available any time of day. All grade levels have a pick up bin, but there is a K-4 and 5-8 drop off bin. 5th and 6th grade work is posted on our Google Classroom and packets are made for those on an as-need basis.
I hope this provides some clarification. Again, please ask questions even if you’re unsure of something. I am more than happy to work with you so your child(ren) can be successful.
There’s a few more things I am waiting to find information on and once I learn those I will post them here.
~Mrs. Bush
April 22: I've had a few parents ask me about the K-4 Specials Calendar.
If you have emailed me your child's work, you don't have to turn in the calendar with your initials.
If you are completing the paper packet, just keep the calendar attached with your initials and turn in the finshed packet to the K-4 drop off bin outside of the junior high entrance.
Thank you!
Packet Update April 9:
If you have requested a paper packet for your K-4 student, they are available in the pick up bins in front of the junior high entrance with your child's name written on it.
A few extra copies have been made and are also located in the bins.
If there are no more in the bins, please email me so extra copies can be made.

Specials Rotation for the month of April
Starting next week, April 6, K-4 Specials classes will follow a rotation for when students should work on our class activities. You will see your child's grade level and the week they have art, music, gym, and tech time (for kindergarten).
I will post K-4 activities here and on my Facebook page. Mr. Laughlin & Mrs. Weaver will post their activities on their own sites. I believe Mrs. Lacey will share her kindergarten work with kindergarten teachers.
The best way of submitting your child's work to us is through email. I don't expect you to email me everyday because I understand we are all busy with other school work and many parents still have to report to work. If you can please email me pictures of your child's work at the end of the week, that would be really helpful.
I am working on paper packets as well, which is why you see "initials" on the calendar days. I am hoping to have those things ready by next week. So if you are receiving paper packets please know I understand you may be a tad behind on the weekly rotation. I will be flexible with you. Grades 1-4 have "blank" days and those can be used as days to make up work and get caught up or to do any other fun activities.
*5th and 6th grade art will still see their assignments posted on Google Classroom.
April 2: please fill the Art Supplies Survey if you can. I am considering making simple art supply baggies for families who have zero to very little supplies. Supplies I'm willing to hand out include: paper, pencil, crayons, glue stick; other supplies might be included based on need or grade level.
On March 13, 2020, I sent home Art Journal Packets for K-4 students.
